award was introduced in 1909 during the reign of King Edward VII by then Lt. Gen. Baden-Powell (later to become Sir Robert Baden-Powell), the badge

gold imperial Tudor Crown or King’s Crown
, in many Commonwealth jurisdictions the King’s Crown was used after the succession of Queen Elizabeth II in 1952, it is my understanding, however, that in Canada this award badge was re-designed in 1957 and then until 1968 this award badge featured a
Queen’s Crown (also called St. Edward’s Crown or the Royal Crown)

in this listing was the latter version of the King’s Scout award in Canada

the age of the youth who could earn this award and the requirements to earn this award have changed over the years and one from jurisdiction to another, typically the youth had to be a First Class Scout and be duly qualified to wear FOUR proficiency badges from a certain list, the youth was also required to re-pass the annual test for those qualifying badges or cease to wear the King’s Scout badge
, this cloth emblem was worn on the left arm of the uniform above the First Class Scout badge and then surrounded by the qualifying proficiency badges
